Key Points:

1. Objective:
   To provide 1 crore internship opportunities over the next 5 years, starting with 1.25 lakh internships in 2024-25.
2. Internship Duration:
• Total Duration: 12 months.
• Hands-on Experience: At least half of the time must be spent in a real working environment, not in classrooms.
3. Eligibility:
• Age: 21 to 24 years old.
• Qualifications:
• Completed high school or diploma.
• Graduate degrees like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, etc. are eligible.
• Ineligible candidates: Graduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, and others with advanced qualifications like CA, MBA, or master’s degrees.
• Income Limit: Family income should not exceed ₹8 lakh/year.
• Government Employee Clause: Candidates with any permanent/regular government employee in their family are not eligible.
4. Stipend and Financial Support:
• Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000
• ₹500 from the company.
• ₹4,500 from the government through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
• One-Time Grant: ₹6,000 to cover initial expenses upon joining.
5. Application Process:
• Candidates must register on the official portal.
• Candidates can apply for up to 5 internships based on location and preference.
6. Insurance:
• Government Insurance: Coverage under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
7. No Employment Guarantee:
• The internship does not promise future employment with the company or the government.
